Electronic Medical Records

In recent years, President George W. Bush has encouraged the public and private sectors to work together to create an electronic medical record for every American within the next 10 years. In his 2004 State of the Union Address, President Bush said: “[by] computerizing health records, we can avoid dangerous medical mistakes, reduce costs, and improve care.” The physician membership of Winchester Orthopaedic Associates (WOA) are pleased to announce that WOA is doing its part by implementing a system-wide electronic medical records system. This system will replace the existing paper-based methodology of medical record keeping currently used by most Physicians.

Our Goal
Our goal in converting to an electronic medical record system is to provide physicians with more face-to-face time with patients, track and analyze data from different visits to determine the effects of treatment modalities and compare outcomes, and to educate and empower our patients with respect to their care.

Winchester Orthopaedic Associates, Ltd is continuing to support President Bush's proposal by implementing an Electronic Medical Records system in Summer of '07.
