Patient Education:

 

Winchester Orthopaedic Associates, Ltd. will contact your insurance company to obtain pre-authorization for an exam. The office will schedule all diagnostic testing, referrals, and epidural steroid injections that were ordered by the physician. The office will then contact the patient via telephone or mail after this has been arranged. This process can take anywhere from 7 to 14 business days or longer.

 

MRI Instructions:

You do not need to make any special preparations for this examination. You may eat normally. For pre-screening questions you must call the testing facility three days or more prior to your appointment. Failure to do this may result in your test being rescheduled. Arrive 30 minutes before your appointment time. Please remember to take your signed Physician's order form with you on the day of your appointment.

For patients scheduled at Winchester Medical Center you will need to call (540) 536-8988 to answering pre-screening questions. Enter the hospital through the Outpatient Entrance and go directly to Registration. Follow the signs in the lobby.  

For patients scheduled at Winchester Open MRI, you will need to all (540) 545-4674 to answer pre-screening questions. Open MRI is located in the Trex Building at 160 Exeter Drive, Ste 104, Winchester, VA.

 NOTICE: It is advisable for you to check with your insurance company to ensure that the cost of an exam is covered by your policy. This is not the responsibility of our office. The number to your insurance company is listed on the back of your insurance card.
