Meet our Physicians

O. Winston Cameron, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Cameron obtained his medical degree from University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson, Mississippi. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta and a fellowship in Hand Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Dr. Cameron spent 12 years in private practice at Meridian Orthopaedic Associates in Meridian, Mississippi and joined Winchester Orthopaedic Associates in 1995. His clinical interests include: sports medicine, shoulder surgery, arthroscopy, knee and hip surgery and total joint replacements. Dr. Cameron serves as the Team Physician for Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia and Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.

Dr. Cameron is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, and Medical Society of Virginia. His interests include spending time with his family, bicycling, tennis, history and historic preservation.

Thomas W. Wise, M.D.

Dr. Wise obtained his degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Dr. Wise joined Winchester Orthopaedic Associates in 2000. His clinical interests include: adult reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, shoulder surgery, and trauma. Dr. Wise is the Team Physician for John Handley High School in Winchester, Virginia.

In November 2007, Dr. Wise obtained the distinction of Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Wise is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, and Medical Society of Virginia. His interests include spending time with his family, travel, and various sporting activities.


John H. Zoller, III, M.D.

Dr. Zoller obtained his degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Zoller spent 16 years in private practice at Winchester Surgical Clinic and joined Winchester Orthopaedic Associates in 2004. His clinical interests include: operative and non-operative care of the spine and adult reconstructive surgery including total joint replacements, anterior total hip replacements, and total knee replacements with a bi-cruciate retaining knee (XP).

Dr. Zoller is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, American Medical Association, and Medical Society of Virginia. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.


Stephen H. Martenson, M.D.

Dr. Martenson obtained his degree from the University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at North Carolina Memorial Hospital (University of North Carolina) in Chapel Hill.

Dr. Martenson spent 21 years in private practice at Winchester Surgical Clinic and joined Winchester Orthopaedic Associates in 2004. His clinical interests include: sports medicine, arthroscopy, and adult reconstructive surgery including total joint replacements and anterior total hip replacements.

Dr. Martenson is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, and Medical Society of Virginia. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and traveling.


Abbey K. Gore, M.D.

Dr. Gore obtained her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Gore joined Winchester Orthopaedic Associates in September, 2014. Dr. Gore is board certified and her clinical interests include: anterior total hip replacements, hand surgery, sports medicine, pediatrics and trauma.


Dr. Mantell

Matthew T. Mantell M.D.

Dr. Mantell is a board-eligible, fellowship trained, orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine. He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He received his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and stayed in the area to complete his residency at The George Washington University Hospital. He continued his training at the prestigious New England Baptist Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital, where Dr. Mantell completed his fellowship training in sports medicine.

Dr. Mantell joined Winchester Orthopaedic Associates in September 2017. Dr. Mantell is Board Eligible, and his clinical interests include: sports medicine, arthroscopic treatment of hip, shoulder, and knee injuries as well as cartilage restoration procedures.

Dr. Mantell’s personal interests include golf, tennis, running, hiking, sailing, travelling and spending time with his family.
