The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is redefining the way musculoskeletal care is delivered across the region with locations throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Shawna is originally from Farmington, PA. She attended Slippery Rock University where she earned a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2015. She then completed her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock in 2018. Recent post graduate education includes obtaining her Orthopedic Certified Specialist credentialling through the APTA and Level 3 Trigger Point Dry Needling certification through Myopain Seminars in 2024. She now lives in Winchester, VA after moving from the DMV area where she started practicing upon graduation. Her clinical practice has been in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation settings and she has developed an interest in post-op conditions, sport-specific and lifting athlete training, and dry needling treatment to allow her patients to return to their prior level of function and confidently manage their condition. Outside of work, solar-powered-Shawna enjoys all things outdoors, traveling, scoping out wineries/breweries, and playing with her fur brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews.
